If you are heading out to the mill for a tour, why not make a day of it and head over to the picturesque Pasu Farms for lunch.
Pasu Farms is a small sheep farm, restaurant, and boutique just to the west of Carstairs, Alberta and about a 35min drive from the mill. Owners Pat and Sue started their farm back in the 70's around the same time we got the mill going. They raise their own lamb and grow many of the vegetables they serve in the restaurant. They have been long-time friends and customers of the mill, having their wool made into comforters and socks, and, when there is a celebration to be had, their restaurant is where we head - whether it's to celebrate Mother's day, Christmas with our staff, or simply a beautiful summer day.
The food is exceptional and, as far scenery goes, Pasu is one of the most beautiful places to dine. This Calgary Herald review gives it an 11 out of 10 for ambience, and we agree full-heartedly. We were last there on a rainy Sunday afternoon and, even still, the vistas were striking.
They are a busy place, so be sure to phone and make a reservation. They are open from 12pm to 4pm for lunch.
